Get Some Endorphins
November and December are the busiest months of the year. No wonder! Holidays, birthdays, and general responsibilities are compounded into mere weeks. These hectic days means you might struggle to find a moment of freedom, so you might find yourself putting your health and wellness goals behind you for a time. However, this is counter-intuitive.
Exercise has been noted by multiple studies to increase feelings of happiness and satisfaction, thanks to hormones called endorphins (and other benefits). By burning off some calories and a whole lot of stress, you can combat the holiday blues more effectively. Therefore, you should always give yourself some time to do something, whether it is going for a brisk walk or jog, practicing some yoga, taking a group fitness class, or trying something new, like bouldering or martial arts.
Better yet, make fitness a gift to yourself and family. For instance, you can sign yourself up for some lessons in golfing or swimming or skiing. Give the present of learning a new skill while staying fit! That’s something everyone can get behind.
