Diarrhea
Liver failure often causes diarrhea for the same reason it causes nausea. The body becomes unable to breakdown certain nutrients, compromising metabolic functions. The indigestion will distress the bowel.
The liver is also responsible for filtering out waste and other toxins from the body. When it’s not functioning optimally, toxic overload is the result. This, too, can upset the bowel, causing repeated instances of diarrhea—and that can lead to dehydration and nutritional deficiencies.
