Extreme Fatigue
Individuals with fibromyalgia tend to experience such extreme fatigue that it impedes their ability to lead a normal, healthy life. It can negatively influence their personal, social, and work life. This symptom is usually one of the first indicators that something is not quite right (apart from the pain experienced). Not only do people with fibromyalgia usually experience extreme fatigue, this fatigue has been referred to as being “flu like” and can be omnipresent, even after waking. This fatigue can often lead to emotional issues such as depression and anxiety. It can be downright frustrating being exhausted all of the time! Although some people might find a midday nap may help, that is not always the case.
