Fever
This symptom combined with abdominal pain is a strong indication of diverticulitis among individuals with mild to moderate cases of the disease. Such individuals report low-grade temperature which is persistent. Any rapidly rising fever indicates a more severe infection which should be evaluated immediately. Fever is among the body’s natural defenses against infections. The body raises the internal temperature to create an internal environment that is hostile to invaders.
