    Chest Tightness

    Bronchitis sufferers also complain of chest tightness. The tightness is compared to a tightening band around the chest or pressure exerted on the chest. Bronchitis causes congestion in the bronchial tubes. This is believed to contribute to the chest tightness. This symptom is treated using a cool mist humidifier that moistens air loosening the mucous and relieving the tightness. Steroids can also be prescribed to reduce inflammation in the airways.
