Vitamin D is just as important as magnesium, but vitamin D can’t be absorbed into the body without adequate amounts of calcium and magnesium. Like calcium, magnesium is required by the body to aid in synthesizing vitamin D when absorbed from the sun. This means even the slightest magnesium deficiency could affect the levels of other vital vitamins and minerals in the body, as well.
