Shortness of Breath
Medically known as dyspnea, shortness of breath is another typical sign of pulmonary arterial hypertension. In fact, it is often one of the first symptoms, alongside arrhythmia, that you will notice.
The arteries of the heart are what carries oxygen and blood into the lungs, allowing for respiration. Every inhalation and exhalation pumps blood through our whole body to give us life. However, when you suffer from PAH, bringing becomes tremendously difficult, and the inhale-exhale cycle is no longer as efficient.
As a result, you cannot breathe as easily and will become short of breath quickly, regardless of the physical activity.
