Coughing
Coughing and wheezing lean more towards high blood pressure affecting the lungs more than the heart. Since the lungs are being deprived of oxygen, the body initiates an action to help you draw in more air: coughing. Most of the time, the cough will be dry and may cause hoarseness. Depending on the frequency of the cough, you may even bring up some blood.
Wheezing may be heard during your inhalations and coughing. In fact, for this reason, PH is sometimes misdiagnosed as severe asthma. Constricted arteries and shortness of breath will ultimately result in wheezing and cough, especially after exercise.
