Fatigue
Many people will say they are fatigued without knowing the true medical definition. Fatigue happens after a period of physical or mental activity that results in extreme weariness and tiredness and the inability to function due to limited energy. Although fatigue can be the result of many medical conditions, in regards to pulmonary hypertension, it is caused when blood fails to reach the organs and other tissues.
With PAH, fatigue will often strike quickly. For example, you may be climbing a flight of stairs and start heaving for air and become dizzy. Upon reaching the top, you may feel exhausted. Those suffering from pulmonary hypertension will usually feel even more fatigue during periods of rest.
