How Long Does The Flu Vaccine Last?
You must receive a new shot of the flu vaccine annually, because the flu virus mutates year to year. In other words, the flu shot you receive this year is only active for this season. Sometimes, protection will last a bit longer, but it won’t be enough to protect you next year. There is some evidence that some people are protected for even longer periods, but you should play it safe.
Get your flu shot every year, since the strains change and so will your immunity.
