Confusion
Related to dizziness is confusion, another factor that can be related to dehydration. During influenza infection, dehydration is dangerous (it always is, but more so when you’re sick). Add confusion to the mix, and you may have difficulties dealing with the illness.
Confusion can impede your innate ability to listen to what your body is telling you. You may misread signs. That is why the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers confusion to be a sign of emergency in those with the flu and recommends that you seek medical care as soon as possible.
