Not expressing your feelings
Emotional intimacy involves communicating and expressing feelings. Whether it is a positive feeling such as affection or one that is negative such as frustration, it is healthier to get it out of your system. Bottling up emotions can affect your own emotional health. You may eventually explode and say things you’ll end up regretting.
Knowing when your partner is happy or sad helps both of you to find ways to deal with problems or dissatisfaction. Speaking your mind in a gentle, non-confrontational manner helps the two of you to work things out instead of choosing to break up as a solution. Bear in mind that negative feelings should be expressed in a manner that lets your partner know how you feel without casting blame or causing them emotional pain.
