Using or abusing drugs
Substance abuse, also known as drug addiction, affects millions of American men and women of all ages. It has caused plenty of breakups particularly because the addicted partner refuses to seek addiction treatment.
If you’re the one struggling with drug abuse, it is normal to deny the addiction despite the obvious destruction it causes to your physical and mental health, family, relationships, or career. Chronic addiction does not get better on its own. You will ultimately need addiction treatment to recover and have a fighting chance to stay connected to loved ones.
