Bread Crumbs and Stuffing
Bread crumbs and stuffing make wonderful additions to an emergency stockpile. You can add bread crumbs to casseroles, soups, stews, and other hearty menus; you can also bread meats, mix bread crumbs into crab cakes, or find another purpose. Stuffing is a hearty way to get your carbohydrates and can also include vegetables and other mix-ins. Since stuffing also retains moisture, it’s great to pair with meats.
Unfortunately, you are going to have to do some extra prep to keep bread crumbs and stuffing mixes ready. Most bread crumbs you buy in the store are not kept in plastic but in waxed paper. Switch your bread crumbs to a tightly sealed glass or plastic container before storing.
