Loss of Appetite
There are a multitude of conditions that will lead to weakened appetite. Depression, the flu, common colds, and even certain physical conditions can lead to a loss of appetite. Cancer affects the body in ways that reduce metabolism and changes the way the body uses energy, which can affect hunger.
Furthermore, certain cancers, like colon, stomach, and pancreatic cancer, will cause increased pressure in the gastrointestinal tract. The pressure often makes people feel more full than they actually are. As cancer progresses, or as a tumor grows, the appetite will continue to be affected. Treatments for cancer will also upset the stomach and can cause a lack of appetite.
