Black Stool
When a person has an ulcer, and more so when it is bleeding, bowel movements can appear darker or even have tarry black areas. This indicates that the ulcer becoming more severe, as the black spots are made of digested blood, which is leaking into the digestive tract. If you are having tarry black stools it is important to seek medical attention for your condition.
Vomiting Blood
It is normal to vomit when you have an ulcer due to the increased volume of digestive fluids in your stomach and intestines. However, if you are seeing traces of blood in your vomit it is a sign that your ulcer is becoming more severe and that you are bleeding into your stomach. This is not a good sign and you should seek medical attention immediately.
