No More Hot Flashes, Ladies

An interesting study that was published in Menopause and conducted by the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) found that 42-percent of women between the ages 60 and 65 still had hot flashes occasionally. The severity of the hot flashes was different for each individual. Hot flashes after menopause are most often caused from lifestyle changes, medication, nutritional deficiencies, conditions affecting the hypothalamus, and lower estrogen levels.

However, for most women, as menopause ends and your hormone levels taper off, you will note a subtle shift away from hot flashes. This will come as a relief after years of disrupted sleep and less fun in the bedroom! If you continue to experience hot flashes, consider changing up your diet, getting enough exercise, and consuming more cooling foods.
