Symptoms of Tuberculosis

Unexplained Fever

Once the tuberculosis infection starts to attack the body, and your immune system reacts as it should, you will inevitably develop a fever. The average temperature runs around 100 degrees F (38 degrees C) or higher.

Another symptom that is related to fever would be getting the chills. Despite having a fever, you will feel colder than usual, as if you were trapped in an eternal winter. The chills occur when your muscles contract and expand repeatedly, causing shivers and shakes. The chills will be consistent and may last for an hour or so. Similarly, you can expect to have night sweats in the evening. Night sweats happen because the proteins, also known as cytokines, that the body releases to fight the infection will raise your temperature.
