Chest Pain When Breathing or Coughing

Tuberculosis mainly affects your lungs, which is why you experience respiratory-related issues, like the persistent coughing and chest pain. Most commonly felt during and after a fit of coughing, chest pain from tuberculosis is caused by inflammation of the membranes found within the lungs. This is also known as pleurisy. Professionals note that pleurisy will develop shortly after you have been infection. The inflammation will also cause shortness of breath, so you may find this compounded with chest pain and coughing, making it difficult to inhale and exhale throughout the day.
