Bleeding Easily
Did you know that the liver is also responsible for producing the clotting factors known as fibrinogen and thrombocytes? These two blood clotting factors are responsible for keeping us from bleeding out from injuries or getting horrendously bruised.
However, with liver failure you won’t be producing fibrinogen and thrombocytes. For this reason, most patients will bleed frequently and profusely. Even the smallest of paper cuts will bleed excessively, and bleeding noses and gums will be more frequent. Although rare, there have been some cases during advanced liver failure of internal bleeding along the gastrointestinal tract.
