Loss of Appetite
Similar to nausea and diarrhea is appetite loss. Again, the body’s metabolic and digestive processes take a hit when the liver is not functioning correctly. Since the body isn’t absorbing nutrients and expelling waste, those suffering from liver failure will often see a decrease in the desire to consume food.
Meals will become less and less interesting, and they might stop eating altogether. Severe loss of appetite or illness-induced anorexia will often cause a shortage of nutrients, muscle wasting, loss of essential fat, and many other medical complications.
