Diarrhea

Paired with nausea and vomiting is loose and watery bowel movements, known as diarrhea, which is the result of continuous gastrointestinal upset. There are two kinds of diarrhea that people experience—acute and chronic. For those with kidney infections, acute diarrhea will last for a couple of days due to the bacterial infection (much like diarrhea from food poisoning). However, if the diarrhea continues for more than 2 or 3 days, make an appointment with your physician immediately, as this can be a sign of something other than kidney infection. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids, for persistent diarrhea can cause dehydration.
