Signs & Symptoms of a Kidney Infection

Nausea

Loss of appetite, nausea, and sometimes even vomiting can occur during a kidney infection. As the infection spreads, patients will suffer from lack of energy and weight loss from being nauseous all the time and not wanting to eat. Dehydration from frequent urination and diarrhea can also result in nausea. Be sure to stay hydrated to help the body flush out the bacteria.

Another reason nausea occurs is when there is pressure in the abdomen. Eating or drinking can cause the pressure to become intolerable. Toxins also will be backing up into your system, which can cause the stomach to forcefully expel contents in an effort to flush out the waste.
