Urinary Urgency
As the kidney affection grows worse and the bacteria travels up the urethra, you will often feel a constant need to urinate, even after emptying your bladder completely. Similarly, you might feel as if you cannot empty the bladder entirely, as if there is fluid remaining in the bladder or urethra. This unbearable urge to pee often is a sign of both a UTI and kidney infection. The urge to urinate will also be paired with heaviness in the abdomen and throbbing or cramping.
