Paranoia and Dissociation

Borderline personality disorder can make people feel suspicious about the intentions of others. Although those with BPD want to be accepted and are scared of abandonment, they are also quick to mistrust those around them, particularly if they are under immense stress.

During periods of stress, individuals with BPD may also dissociate. In this state, people cut themselves off from their own conscious and will see themselves beyond their bodies. Other signs of dissociation include the feeling that you are witnessing your life as if watching a movie; having an unclear sense of self; and other mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
