Abnormal Heart Rate
One initial sign of pulmonary arterial hypertension is a loud or abnormal heartbeat. You might describe the unusual rhythm as a gallop or, for some, a systolic murmur. Others might feel this abnormal rate as a racing pulse or tangible palpitations. These are clear signs of ventricular failure.
