Do You Know The Most Common Symptom of Ovarian Cancer?

Constipation

When you think about female anatomy, you will realize that the ovaries, bladder, uterus, and rectum are all within the same area. Therefore, when pressure is exerted on one part, the other parts begin to feel that pressure as well. This can make it difficult for the bowel to relax, causing constipation. Furthermore, when ovarian cancer starts spreading into the intestines, muscle function around the bowel will be affected.

Pay attention when you use the toilet. Do you feel a deep pressure in your low back or pelvis? How easily is it for you to relax and let nature take its course? If you struggle to move your bowels, it may be more than constipation. A tumor could be pressing against the rectum.

If the constipation is partnered with bloating or pain in and around the abdomen, you may be inclined to believe its all the fiber you have been consuming—but do not be fooled. Instead of being sorry, be safe and make an appointment with your OB/GYN.
