Common Symptoms of Tuberculosis

Chest Pain

You might think that chest pain is only for heart-related conditions, but it can also be a symptom of lung-related problems like tuberculosis. When the bacteria starts to move throughout the lungs and into the chest—an area known as the pleural space—the lining can become inflamed, causing pleurisy. Those who have pleurisy often complain about painful respiration, fever, and sharp, stinging pains in the chest.

Chest pain can also be caused due to muscles that have tightened up and grown tense from persistent coughing. The tension might run up through the shoulders and neck.
