Symptoms of Kidney Stones

Small Volume of Urine

As mentioned earlier, kidney stones can be any shape or size, although the average size is about 5 millimeters. Some stones have been bigger. The larger the stone, the greater the chance of it getting stuck in the ureter; and that can lead to a blockage that hinders the flow of urine.

If you are unable to urine or have decreased output (also known as oliguria), see a doctor as soon as you can. While it may not be a kidney stone causing minimal urine to pass, it could be something dangerous, like dehydration, infection, or even a side effect of some medications, like NSAIDs, ACE inhibitors, and gentamicin.
