Painful Urination

Once the kidney stone has reached the point between the bladder and ureter, you will experience pain during urination. Doctors call this sensation “dysuria.”

The pain can be described as burning and sharp, kind of like a urinary tract infection. If you don’t know you have a kidney stone, you may even think that you have a UTI. Unfortunately, you can have an infection at the same time you have a kidney stone.
