Sudden, Severe Pain
Pain in the back and abdomen has already been discussed, but there is another kind of pain associated with kidney stones. Many people will experience a sudden, sharp stab of severe pain that sends them to the emergency room. It usually lasts between 20-60 minutes. At this time, most patients do not realize what is causing the issue.
The pain will be intense. You won’t be able to find relief from it, no matter what position you try to put yourself in. It is like back strain or neck pain but worse, because it radiates and dissipates then comes back again. If this happens, seek medical assistance.
